Gorgeous Flower Displays at Cambridge University

The academic year is well underway, and here at Tolly’s Flowers we have put our artistic skills to the test making magnificent creations for special events at schools, colleges, universities and other educational establishments across East Anglia. From stunning table candelabras, to glorious pedestal arrangements, here is a taste of some of the spectacular displays Tolly’s designers have created for the world-renowned Cambridge University earlier this year.

Kings College Hall

These eye-catching tall candelabra arrangements in shades of maroon, cream and purple, atop of elegant silver stems, provide the ideal décor for this stunning Gothic Georgian hall. We produced the fine candelabra displays for a wonderful dinner at King’s College Hall, considered one of the most impressive dining halls created during George IV’s reign. Our displays perfectly match their graceful surroundings.

 Queen's College Chapel

These two large pedestals in reds, white and purple blend effortlessly into their surroundings without detracting from the splendour of the interior. These gorgeous flower displays, set against the delicate and intricate backdrop of the altar, made a beautiful visual amalgamation at the centuries old Queen’s College Chapel.

St John's Chapel

A striking mix of English grown stocks and sunflowers made a fantastic focal point in this grand, 14th century stone interior. The large pedestal arrangement was designed by Tolly’s for the historic St John’s Chapel, which draws thousands of visitors a year.

We provide welcoming and stunning displays for a range of school and college venues and events from open days to prize giving ceremonies, graduation celebrations and more. Call us now on 01638 668805 to discuss your requirements.

Homegrown Flowers for Beautiful Displays

For pretty and romantic wedding table displays, nothing beats the beauty of locally grown flowers. Choosing elegant home grown blooms are full of advantages. Not only are seasonal flowers – such as sweet peas, hydrangeas, and stocks – incredibly good value, but they’re eco-friendly as they reduce your carbon footprint. From glamourous Vintage inspired weddings, to flowers with bursts of colour, these latest table creations were designed by Tolly’s for brides and grooms inspired by English country gardens.

Delightful summer table arrangements, in bright reds, pinks and purples, added splashes of colour and fragrance to this attractive East Anglian wedding venue. By using elegant seasonal flowers such as sweet peas and roses we created the most stunning displays influenced by English cottage gardens.

The romance of bygone years was brought to life at this wonderful vintage tea wedding reception. Pretty flowers in soft peaches and cream were delicately arranged in charming vintage China that perfectly matched the venue.

Gentle blooms with a meadow inspired feel brought English glamour to this country style wedding. Our designers paid attention to every detail, with roses and hydrangeas delightfully arranged in a beautiful bouquet designed to conjure up a sense of British summer.

Tolly’s Creates Spectacular Displays for a Prestigious Newmarket Event

Tolly’s of Newmarket were granted the honour of designing magnificent flower arrangements for the high profile Darley Stallion Parade.

This is the 31st year running that Tolly’s has designed the displays for the impressive three-day annual event at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

The prestigious occasion was hosted by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, who staged a glamorous lunch at the headquarters of his world-renowned Darley breeding operation.

Head designer Tolly Considine said the three-day event was attended by a thousand people a day.  Invited guests were treated to a feast with delights from across the globe against a background of soothing quartet music.

Mr Considine said: “It was a huge honour and privilege to design the flowers for the Darley Stallion Parade as this is such an esteemed event.”

This year’s theme was bright colours and the dramatic displays featured pinks, lilacs, purples and greens.

Guests at the memorable event saw some of the most incredible – and most valuable – stallions in the world close up as they were paraded on pristine paddocks.

This year’s Darley July cup was won by Muhaarar, owned by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai.

Our designers combine their experience, creativity and eye for detail to create dramatic centre-pieces in vibrant colours, spectacular stage decorations, or beautiful bar and pedestal arrangements that blend effortlessly with their surroundings. Here are examples of our recent creations.

Stunning and contemporary, this impressive creation was designed to add colour, splendour and atmosphere at a recent drinks party in Newmarket. Bright blooms were perfectly arranged in an elegant long-stemmed vase with smaller displays in silver cups at the base. Our creation co-ordinated beautifully with the décor of the room and gave guests a warm welcome on entry.

Elegance at the Races

Chic and stylish, this floral arrangement for a recent reception at the races adds colour and contrast which works brilliantly against a neutral backdrop. The vibrant blue and pink blooms arranged in a tall, clear stemmed vase, and balancing delicately on a glass table top is a contemporary twist on the traditional table arrangement. It’s a perfect design for a glamorous event.

Roses are not only a popular choice for society events, but they are available in an array of bright colours to add a modern touch to a classic table display. Our vibrant bar arrangements for this recent reception at the races combine to create a magnificent focal point in a contemporary, minimalist setting.

Impact at an Awards Ceremony

Awards ceremony arrangements are designed to add to drama, without detracting from the staged event. Our gorgeous pedestal display was perfect for this awards platform as it co-ordinates beautifully with the dazzling stage backdrop and atmospheric lighting to enhance the splendour and glamour of the evening.
