Tolly’s Flowers Receives VIP Visit
Prime Minister David Cameron recently dropped into Tolly’s Flowers as part of his surprise visit to Newmarket.
He called into our Rous Road shop after meeting with racehorse trainers John Gosden and John Ferguson at the Warren Hill Gallops.
Tolly Considine, Head designer at Tolly’s, said of the visit: “It was a true honour to meet the Prime Minister and tell him all about our business and the great things that are happening in Newmarket.”
Mr Cameron was accompanied by West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock, Minster of Business, as part of his 100 businesses in 100 days campaign.
"I was delighted to show off the brilliant Tolly’s Flowers to the Prime Minister," said Mr Hancock.
As part of Mr Hancock’s 100 businesses tour, Mr Considine spoke about his successes, and what more can be done in government to make it easier to start and grow a business.
"Tolly’s is a fantastic example of a local business serving local people in Newmarket in the heart of West Suffolk," said Mr Hancock.
Earlier in the day, the pair met with the trainers to discuss how to continue to make the £3 billion British horseracing industry go from strength to strength.
"British Racing is a massive success story and I wanted to come and see and hear about it for myself," said Mr Cameron.
